When we have a full house, dinner is festive. Dinner being Friday braai day! We have such an awesome array of people in the house at the moment and we are so blessed to not have had any cancellations due to international travel restrictions being placed on South Africa. Travellers are coming, come what may!

There is a certain element of uncertainty with life these days and despite the idea that we could go into lock down and the beaches close again (like they did last December) people are still choosing to live their life to the fullest and not with fear.

Here’s a few years’ worth of pics from the canola flower seasons. Experiences ranged from freeboobing daycations with girl friends to celebrate spring, and taking my kitten out for a road trip to get her used to being an adventure cat, and hanging out with my single mom friend and her 2 boys! You’re never too young or too old to be pulling over on the side of the road to jump fences and get pics with the flowers! Also, these flower fields are just a short car ride from our house in Blouberg, which is just another reason why the west coast is the best coast.

There’s nothing worse than slow Internet speed! Well, that’s not an issue here at Flamingo House. We regularly get feedback that the internet speed here is epic, and here’s a snapshot of a speed test I just did just to show off a bit.

Needing to upload and download big files or content is possible in the blink of an eye at the house, and the best part is WiFi is uncapped so feel free to go wild watching YouTube or streaming Netflix while you’re staying with us.

Internet is stable and consistent throughout the whole house.
