Unplanned adventures: A boat house β and bubbly bliss π₯
In the spirit of the long weekend we decided to drive out to Kalk Bay - a fishermen's town less than an hour's drive from Cape Town.
The last time we drove out to a little fishermen's town (see my oysters & bubbly post) - we ended up sipping on Cap Classique and, of course, staying over. So this time around we made sure to pack an overnight bag, plus a bottle of Silverthorn Wines
The Green Man - just for in case π
After a full day of exploring the mystical little town and feasting on seafood at BrassBell, Kalkbay we found A Boat House. A beautiful little guesthouse with unsurpassed views of the ocean!
Amanda gave us a warm welcome and helped us settle in, just in time to soak up a picturesque sunset with a glass of The Green Man.
As much as I am an advocate for last minute adventures, I like to be prepared when it comes to wine π
A little more about The Green Man - one of my favourite "Blanc de Blanc" Cap Classiques
π 100% Chardonnay hand harvested & whole bunch pressed - yielding only 600 litres of juice/ton. A small portion of the base wine is barrel fermented for added complexity. Minimum 24 months on the lees.
π₯ Vibrant green hue with wine, persistent bubbles. Juicy green apple and freshly baked brioche on the nose. Well rounded on the palate with an exceptional fine mousse and a long finish!
