Have you ever wondered about the story behind our two lovely sculptures placed around the guesthouse?

This sculpture is one of Marieke Prinsloo’s limited sculpture series, ‘Walking the Road’.
They previously formed part of a public installation along the Sea Point Promenade.

The body of work pays homage to a little girl who represents a young South African Democracy, in which she reaches out to a dragonfly that represents our dreams of freedom, equality and hope for our nation.

Be sure next time you visit or stay at us to spend some time in the presence of these beautiful works!

This is magic. Last Monday night Nature exposing herself as Bioluminescence. Certain conditions cause algae to multiply and as they do they become agitated and then glow. These pictures taken by were taken in our ocean. Thank you

Garden Day Kalk Bay A day to celebrate our gardens and green open spaces

A great initiative by some special Kalk Bay People happens Sunday October 15th "GARDEN DAY" In Kalk Bay & St James (our twin😊) A collaboration of residents and local businesses.

🌼 8am - 11am: Pop up sculpture park and coffee in Danger Beach Park. With a raffle to raise funds for the ongoing maintenance of the park.

To say "Have a Swell time" takes on a new meaning in the Cape! Our weekend wasn't a "barrel" of laughs as business and lives were affected by record size swell as a result of strong tides and violent winds. You could see the drama from our deck!

Kalk Bay has a plethora of yoga teachers or yogi’s. Committed as we are to right living - physical, mental and spiritual, many of us attend weekly yoga sessions in Kalk Bay. Teachers like Glen The Great, legendary 70 something Glen Ross-Hudson - Karma yoga, Yoga Chi, ballet, at the Kalk Bay Community Centre, Monique Woolls-King Ayama Yoga in Windsor Road practices Iyangar and again at the Kalk Bay Community Centre Karyn Velleman (Marais) also teaches Iyengar. Each mixes it up and with poise, focus, Om and Ahhhhhhh. We know we keep going back!
