One of our favourites on the list, and for good reason 🍸

Hamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot Noir comes from the cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, and it shows. Wild cherries and cassis, a touch of clove and violet, tight tannins that hold their structure right through a long, quiet finish. Old World in style, effortless in every glass.

We think it's one of the finest expressions of South African Pinot Noir being made today.

Seven floors, one clifftop, and a home that looks like it has always belonged there.

Hugo built something that feels like Old-World Europe in a neighbourhood leaning modern. Each level has its own terrace and its own version of the view, with the mountain rising behind you as you climb. We get to walk through it every morning, and the staircase still makes us slow down.

Happy World Architecture Day to the house we are lucky to call ours.

from 21 nettleton, guests can step through our private access at the back of the property and onto the slopes of lion’s head, winding through the trees before joining the mountain trails above clifton.

We have struggled for some time to find the words to share this.

A few months ago, we lost our dear Ronald, our much-loved chef and a deeply important part of the 21 Nettleton family. His passing has been incredibly difficult for us, and perhaps that is why it has taken us this long to put into words what he meant to 21 Nettleton, to our team, and to us personally.

Ronald joined us in 2016 as part of the original opening team and made an immeasurable contribution to the heart and character of 21 Nettleton. His presence extended far beyond the kitchen. Through his warmth, generosity, talent and quiet dedication, he touched the lives of so many of our guests and was deeply loved by his teammates.

For almost a decade, Ronald helped create countless memories around our tables. Many of our guests came to know him through the food he prepared with such care, while those of us fortunate enough to work alongside him knew the kindness, humour and heart behind it.

His absence is still deeply felt, and it remains difficult to imagine 21 Nettleton without him.

Our thoughts and love remain with Ronald’s family, his loved ones, and everyone whose life he touched.

We will always be grateful that Ronald was part of our journey from the very beginning, and for everything he gave to this place and to all of us.

Rest in peace, Ronald. You will always be part of 21 Nettleton.
