Probably one of the most interesting lighthouses in Southern Africa is Roman Rock, the fifth oldest in South Africa.

The Light was first exhibited on 16 September 1861 and is situated in False Bay at the entrance to the historical naval harbour of Simons Town.

What makes this lighthouse so interesting is the fact that it is the only lighthouse on our coast to have been erected on a single offshore rock (and one of a few worldwide) and it is completely surrounded by water.

It is exposed at low water, while at high tide is covered completely

Chef Alex and her team have taken vegan/vegetarian/ethical/ healthy food to another level and we can’t get enough. Yesterday we tried her ginger chocolate cake which by the way is vegan, raw and highly addictive.
Highly recommended and feel so grateful to have this kind of place in our town.

Your final opportunity in 2020 to witness the magnificent humpback whale “SUPER-GROUPS” before they embark on their epic journey to the polar feeding grounds.
With Hout Bay being their last port of call, we have partnered with Captain Jacks and will be operating our large vessel Southern Right out of Hout Bay harbour from the 10th of December.
Depending on the up-welling activity and abundance of krill, whale numbers could be from a few individuals to as many as 200 animals.
The duration of the tour will be approximately 2 hours and you will be hosted by highly qualified marine guides, along with great photographic opportunities of marine fauna & natural scenic beauty.
