It's whale season 🐋

From June through November, the Cape's coastline puts on one of nature's greatest shows — Southern Right Whales making their way into our bays to calve and nurse their young, often close enough to spot from the shore.

Simon's Town, Fish Hoek and St James all offer easy whale-watching right from the coastal pat. For a full day out, Hermanus is famous for having some of the best land-based whale watching in the world.

The Oranjezicht City Farm Market is one of those Cape Town rituals worth building your week around — fresh produce, local coffee, artisanal bread, and stalls piled high with everything from flowers to farm-fresh cheese. Open Wednesday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings, there's always a good reason to stop by.

Grab a coffee, wander the harbourside setting, and let a slow morning or a laid-back Wednesday evening, turn into a proper Cape Town moment.
