In it you will find:

plus a variety of snacks like watermelon slices, roasted nuts, wine gums etc

There is a price list in your room with the cost of each item and when you check out, you tell us what you had and pay for it.

Our Story

Our founder’s love affair with the Cape began as many great relationships do, from afar. He sailed by the most beautiful coast in the world in 1974, and although he never set foot on land, he knew he had to return. And so he did. Twenty years later with South Africa on the brink of a new future, he returned to build Ocean View House.

Starting with only six rooms, the property quickly expanded and a few years later eight more rooms were added. Then in 2005, our founder’s daughter Katrin came aboard and continued the family tradition. Since then, Ocean View House has expanded to 24 rooms, offering guests a unique holiday experience in a marvelous location.

Katrin is the living embodiment of the allure of Ocean View House and the Cape. Having first visited in 1997 as a young student from Germany, she stayed and subsequently found herself studying Hotel Management. She quickly made her way in the hospitality industry before returning to where it all began and taking over the management of Ocean View House.

Today Ocean View House continues to be run as a family business. Katrin’s husband, Lambert, oversees all building and renovations and keeps the property and grounds in top shape. He is also renowned as Ocean View House’s ‘Master of the Braai’. At regular intervals in summer the whole family gather with guests to experience this South African tradition.
