Honest answer: it depends entirely on what matters to you.

So we made this.

Traveller Rooms are compact, well-priced, and perfect if you’re planning to spend most of your time out in Cape Town. Pool Deck for the social buzz, Mountain View if you want a private balcony and the 12 Apostles for company.

Classic Rooms put you right in the garden, immersed in greenery, close to parking and reception, and bookable as a cluster if you’re travelling with a group. Great value.

Superior Rooms are for the guests who will not compromise on the Atlantic view. First floor, private balcony, sea in front of you every morning. Non-negotiable sorted.

Cape Town is calling. Here’s how to answer.

1. Book the flight. The winter fares are genuinely good right now.
2. Drive the coast. Chapman’s Peak with the windows down. Non-negotiable.
3. Watch the tablecloth roll in over Table Mountain. Yes it’s a real thing. No, photos don’t do it justice.
4. Do a wine farm day. Constantia is 20 minutes from Camps Bay. Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are an easy day trip and worth every minute.
5. Eat everything. Camps Bay strip, fresh crayfish in Hout Bay, a long breakfast with an ocean view.
6. Stay somewhere (at Ocean View House ) with a view that makes unpacking feel worth it.

One of our favourite parts of winter?

Watching the clouds spill over the mountains almost like someone’s pulling a cloth across a table (hence the name).

When that famous “tablecloth” rolls in on rainy days, it’s time to settle in with a warm cup of something and get cozy.

Have you ever seen those mountain clouds in person? Because photos really don’t do it justice.

Not all suites are the same. At Ocean View House, not even close.

Our Garden Suite has a koi pond on the terrace and a mountain stream outside the door. It’s one of a kind and it books out fast (just so you know).

Our Milkwood Suite is tucked under ancient Milkwood trees with two balconies (sea view & garden view), a separate lounge, and enough room for the whole family to spread out properly.

Our Panorama Suites are exactly what they sound like, wide open ocean views, most with a bath AND shower, recently refurbished, and the ones our return guests keep coming back for.

Whale season starts in June and if you’ve never planned a trip around it, this might be the year.

Southern right whales come into the bays to rest and nurse their calves, you can spot them from the coastal road, from clifftop walks, and sometimes if you’re lucky, just from the beach. No boat required.

Hermanus is the classic spot (about an hour from us), but honestly you can often spot them much closer to home.

Our Panorama Apartment sits on our top floor - private balcony, lift access, panoramic ocean views, and a bath with a mountain view that will ruin all future baths for you. It’s the one for couples who want to properly settle in.

Our Oasis Apartment is in a league of its own. Private pool. Full kitchen. Fireplace. Braai. A koi pond outside your door. It’s not really a hotel room, it’s more like borrowing someone’s very beautiful home for a week. Minimum 7-night stay.
