It is a crazy Pandemic world out there at the moment as we all know!
I would first like to say a big thankyou to everyone involved in making sure the Western Province has had an efficient and effective approach to handling the Covid crisis you are all amazing and we appreciate all your dedication and hard work.
What scares all of us in the tourism sector the most right now is the prospect of internatinal borders possibly not opening until January, which effectively means if you rely on guests from overseas you will have had to close your business for 10 months. There are tourism bodies who have come up with all the protocols to open up, thankyou SATSA and TBCSA but I now feel when they go into battle for us with government it is on deaf ears. In the tourism industry of SA 70% of the workforce are women.....The knock on effect is so huge you can't imagine.
If you are reading this from overseas please spread the word about how beautiful this country is and consider a trip here.
Even if you can't visit if you are going to buy a bottle of wine(or 2!) this weekend please buy South African ( unfortunately it is not allowed here anymore, a whole other post!!) but every little bit helps.
Have a fab weekend R ###
