What an inspiration to have hosted this remarkable guest, Herman Dekker (79yrs old), his son, Michael Dekker on his right and their family, who all participated in the Sanlam Marathon (42kms) on Sunday, 20 Oct 2024. Herman tells me he will be celebrating his 80th birthday in December. He finished today with a remarkable time of 5hr22min, this is more than a hour before the cut off time. Herman and his family resides in Port Elizabeth. He started participating in marathons since 2003. Herman and his son, daughter-in-law are all involved in a special training program in collaboration with the SAP force where they train & assist young handicapped athletes. ❤️💜💪
