To all the happy holiday makers who wish to come and stay here I wish to stress the following:
When you book for 4 adults , 2 children and a toddler I will no longer be able to allow you to enter my house with more than this amount of people.
It is not acceptable to arrive with numerous children and more than the specified number of adults booked for.
I wish to stress also that this is NOT a “private” house - you do not have the entire house to yourselves.
I started my business as a B&B.
I cook breakfast myself for guests if required in my kitchen.
I do not live alone and have a partner who works with me and keeps me safe.
I employ ADT Security.
The area I live in is a peaceful residential area and we wish to keep it that way.
I respectfully request that you understand the set up before making a booking.

As the swimming pool is in great condition with clear blue water it’s time to get the garden looking better. The Golden Shower that was taken off the wall around the pool last year has now been taken away to its final resting place. It wasn’t easy to get it over the wall onto the bakkie.

Christmas Eve in the evening was spent with a surprise overnight guest and Christmas guests stayed Christmas Day and part of Boxing Day.

My Christmas Day and part of Boxing Day was spent with 7 friends plus their two young children who spent the day swimming and using the barbecue area.
Thankfully the weather was perfect and they have allowed me to share some pictures of their day .
As you will see the swimming pool is looking great!
I was grateful for them including me in their Christmas meal which comprised of chop, sausage, coleslaw and Pap. Together with a packet of crisps and Coke I was well provided for and their generosity was appreciated.
It was delicious.

I do hope they all come back to visit again, as I enjoyed their company.

A bnb or B&B is an abbreviation of a bed and breakfast accommodation.
It is where people are offered overnight accommodation and breakfast in the morning.
Sue’s bnb in Bothasig is located near Century City in Cape Town.
I attach an explanation of this.
The accommodation is not exclusively for people/ guests as part of it is occupied by the Owner.
Staff are employed to act as Security and a Domestic worker is also employed.
If you want to host an event, such as a kiddies birthday party or a family get together kindly give me the details of what it entails and I will give you a Quote.
This is not a Guest House as that would usually mean that the owner lives in a separate dwelling.
It is important that the House Rules are adhered to / obeyed .
This is a residential area.

Sue’s bnb in Bothasig was started 5 years ago on a home share basis and the first agency I listed with was Airbnb. My business is now listed with most of the leading agencies.
Bothasig is located near Century City and it is a peaceful rural, secure and relaxing area.
A “ bnb” is a bed and breakfast accommodation which is available for guests and holiday stays.
The house is self contained and it is my home
where I live with my Labrador dog.
I rent out 2 bedrooms with three double beds and a guest bathroom.
The shared facilities are free WiFi, DSTV compac on TV in the lounge and barbecue outside with a large swimming pool and garden.
It is not a self catering establishment but I will allow use of a portable gas stove which may be hired by paying a refundable deposit of R350 and guests may buy gas cylinders @ approximately R45 per cylinder.
Kindly note that I do not allow use of my kitchen appliances, such as my stove, dishwasher or washing machine.
Refrigerator and microwave may be used .
I run the business myself and I hire casual staff when required.
At present I have someone who assists me when guests are here. His role is not to serve but to be my partner.
The intention is that it will lead to a smoother way forward.

As Sue’s bnb in Bothasig does not have suitable facilities for guests to self cater I have bought a portable gas stove that they can hire.
The cost is currently R350 which is refundable if returned in perfect working order and the cost of the gas cylinder is approximately R45 which you pay for.
I do not allow use of my kitchen stove, washing machine or dishwasher.
The contents of my kitchen cupboards and utensils are for my private use.

I recently hosted Mr (Bennie ) Bakgat Jacobus Barend who is the Chairman of Active Casting Agency . He has assured me that due to the discount I gave him for his stay he will fill my guest bedrooms with the Actors when they are filming in Cape Town!
This hasn’t happened yet but I remain hopeful as Bennie and I are still in contact.
It was a pleasure to meet him and over tea and milk tart that I bought to make him feel welcome he told me many entertaining stories of the International Actors he has met.

Naturally artists are always welcome at my Bed and Breakfast.

I’d like to mention that my home is not suitable for people who have mobility issues.
There is a glass partition in the bath to stop water from the shower.
The beds have a maximum weight capacity of 120 kilograms per person.
The dining room chairs will not hold someone who is obese.
Kindly do not take offense as I need to prevent damage to property.
I will appreciate your understanding.

The New Year 2020 started off with a full house! Four people in the Sunroom who thoroughly enjoyed the weekend around the swimming pool as seen in the pictures with my Labrador Lucky.
A couple in the Guest bedroom inside the house with a 3 year old girl who played a game with him by calling him and then running away!
Plus another couple who stayed overnight and slept on an Inflatable mattress in the lounge.

Thanks to Ian at Pool Doctor in Wynberg for the loan of a Colliquip spanner, without which the job couldn’t have been done successfully.
