Although water buffalo are known to be calmer than Cape buffalo, they are still wild animals and should always be treated with respect. We regularly interact with our youngsters to help keep them social and comfortable around people, but we are always alert for unusual behaviour and only approach them when they allow us to.

We strongly advise guests not to try and interact with them on their own. Even while still young, they are incredibly strong β€” one playful bump can easily land you on your bum… or worse! πŸ˜…
