As we are nearing Christmas and the children and I prepare yet another again to measure out fruit,13 kgs.flour,10 kgs,sugar 5 kgs,butter 8 x 500 g and Christmas spices. As we prepare Joel's pastry and to bake "gran Pinder's" Christmas cake again, we are filled with deep gratitude for all you have taught us Granny Ann and the years we spent baking together..... How did you know dear precious invested great grandmother of these beautiful children that when you taught their mommy to bake all the delicious Sunnyside Christmas traditions 4 x over or 6x over that you were preparing me not for a guest farm but for our large family, teaching me to prepare for and bake for your large Justin Boland clan.... And so as we bake and remember, we are filled yet again after an eventful 2025, with deep gratitude for who you were and the impact you continue to have on the great grandchildren's lives.....

2024 is been one of the hardest years. You have left such a huge empty space. We know it was your time to go but oh how I wish we could turn back the clock have just one last cup of coffee, one last visit, one more season of baking in the kitchen , together, with you dipping your finger in the batter to taste and feel the texture is just right.
How are we suppose to do life without such a remarkable person? The guest farm is running. Guest enjoy your home, your meals, your piece of heaven on earth that you created for others to come and find peace and solace. You would have loved to have seen all the memories made yet again….
I know people across the country, indeed across the world will alway be grateful for what you have built up and left for others to love and enjoy and build family memories. But Oh! being here were you are not is so hard, for your home without you is now indeed but a house. Baking for Christmas this year was the greatest privilege, the greatest honour, but the most difficult thing, standing in your kitchen and you do not come through the door, you do not stand by the stove, you do not beat the eggs or soften the butter.Each pudding, cake, pie, baked with tears. Tears of love and gratitude and longing for your physically little but “oh so great a presence”with us. You loved each member of the family so incredibly well. You accepted, celebrated and invested time so beautifully, crafted relationship with each little person and created memories that not even the smallest person could ever forget. When we light a candle for you, we remember the light and love that your poured into others, indeed everyone you met.All will be well, though you are so missed. By far the hardest Christmas our little family has ever had to do, the children especially will never forget you and we hold on to the greatest example and lessons you so beautifully shared and lived; love others, accept them and “all is well” and so it must be.

Mrs Ann Boland; served others and loved well, a true example! She loved her guests dearly. She loved her family dearly.
She passed peacefully 13/04/2024 with daughter Rosemary by her side. She was surounded by her three children, some of her grandchildren and 10 of her 12 great grand children. Loved by all.

I think of the words of the song sung by Donna Toggard “ There will be another angel around the throne tonight.” We know that we will meet again, until then you will be loved, missed and remembered “I just jelous of the angels around the throne night.”
