Darling Lodge Guest House Darling Lodge Guest House offers a harmonious blend of old and new reflecting the romantic name of t

The guesthouse is an oasis of peace and tranquillity in the middle of Darling, the heartbeat on the West Coast, between the West Coast National Park and the rolling plains of the Swartland platteland. The charming guesthouse and the beautiful garden are lovingly tended to make any stay special, be it for just one night, a romantic weekend on the Darling W**e Route or even for a longer stay. The carefully restored main house, whose oak floors were originally laid in the 1850s, the Victorian charm of which has remained intact, offers three individually decorated country style rooms. The more modern garden annex consists of three further generously appointed rooms with a grapevine covered patio which overlooks the sparkling swimming pool. Three in a contemporary style decorated and furnished spacious suites have been added in 2020 and are the ideal accommodation for a longer stay or a remote work holiday. Exquisite comfort and personal service is just waiting for you. Each room is dedicated to a local artist whose work is on display and can be purchased. A visit at the artist’s workshop can be arranged by request. The guesthouse offers secure off-street parking, a swimming pool with open air lounge, free indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage throughout, a cosy TV lounge (Netflix) with garden views, an honesty bar, a library, and ample space in the garden. Generous breakfasts are served in the breakfast room or on the patio. All rooms are equipped with fans in summer and electric blankets in winter. The photovoltaic plant secures electricity for most of the property during load shedding. Darling is the ideal hub to escape the daily grind and to discover the hidden gems on the West Coast set in one of the world smallest but also richest Floral Kingdoms. A calm and peaceful retreat from the stress and strain of buzzing city life only an hour’s drive from Cape Town.
