Sunday at Sugar Bay with the Bishops Prep and Pre-Prep Grade 7 boys: one minute it’s snorkeling and SUP, next it’s sand sculptures, sumo wrestling, archery, paintball and someone suddenly becoming very serious about a pool tournament.

Add in a party night and fire show to end it all off, and you’ve got a Sunday that clearly had no plans to be ordinary.

Saturday afternoon at Sugar Bay with the Bishops Prep and Pre-Prep Grade 7 boys.

Pool swims, BMX, climbing wall, paintball, tie dye, indoor basketball, skating, field games and a few very serious fooseball moments kept the afternoon moving. Some of the boys also managed to catch the Springboks beating the Barbarians yesterday afternoon, so yes, the camp energy came with a side of rugby bragging rights.

Not a bad Saturday on the KZN North Coast at Sugar Bay Camp.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures and men who show up with love, patience and support.

Today we celebrate the people who cheer from the sidelines, carry the bags, tell the same jokes, give the quiet encouragement and help children feel brave enough to grow.

Today we welcome the Grade 7 boys and teachers from Bishops Prep and Pre-Prep to Sugar Bay.

It is a privilege to have this group with us for a few days, to share our beach, our activities, our cabins and the small camp moments that often stay with children long after they leave.

Thank you for trusting us with this part of their Grade 7 year. We are grateful to have you here, and we hope the boys leave with good memories, stronger friendships and a little more confidence for the road ahead.
