KURUMAN
Young writer reshapes local literary landscape

Rethabile Kgatlhane is a 20-year-old author and publisher from Kuruman. He enjoyed dabbling with words since a young age, drawing inspiration from life experiences, be it good or bad.
In January 2024 at the tender age of 19, this ambitious writer founded TH Publishing Co based in Tzaneen village, Kuruman and quickly emerged as a promising force in the publishing industry. Dedicated to publishing works in both English and Setswana, TH Publishing Co offers opportunities to aspiring writers while working towards preserving and promoting indigenous languages. The company exudes passion and determination, offering a fresh perspective to the world of literature. With a commitment to quality and innovation, TH Publishing Co is poised to make significant strides in shaping the literary landscape.
To date Rethabile has successfully published three books which makes him one of the youngest published authors in the province. The first, titled Bomadimabe, is a Setswana vernacular anthology that explores themes of bad luck. He also published a gripping journal on mental abuse titled My aunt, my killer as well as End of the tunnel, a motivational book that offers hope and resilience.
He is currently working on two new manuscripts titled Building the village winery, which chronicles his entrepreneurial journey in the wine industry. Now is the time to let go, is a reflective work focused on personal growth and healing.
He believes his story will resonate with many young people who aspire to break barriers in the literary and entrepreneurial fields. Kathu Gazette wishes him all the best for his future.
Rethabile can be contacted at 060 920 6431 or at [email protected] for any further information.
