Our Story

Nestled in the rolling sugarcane fields of KwaZulu Natal’s North Coast, Kijabe Lodge is 15 minutes north of Ballito. We are an old, North Coast family-run establishment with the unique features of a pet and children friendly, self catering (or Bed and Breakfast with the added option of a 2 course Dinner for R150 a head) 16 sleeper, rambling farmhouse with a huge swimming pool and entertainment area, BYO pub, enormous kitchen and organic vegetable and herb garden, massive lounge with a fireplace, all topped off with a 6km private beach. We offer customised warm, comfortable and home-from-home stays in a tranquil setting with breathtaking sea views from most of the rooms. Kijabe is IDEAL for family holidays, weddings (audio and video available as add-ons), golfing tours, fishing, snorkeling, surfing and diving outings, picnics, wine tastings, live entertainment, functions of all types and corporate/team-building getaways. The Glade area of the garden with panoramic sea views - with our well-known tree - is a popular choice for weddings, as is the private beach. We have collaborative associations with cake, audio and video, graphic design, catering and photographic specialists, wine merchants and wholesalers, which we are happy to pass onto our guests.
