The general manager will be responsible for the smooth and effective operation of The Travel Inn, coordinating all departments to meet service and business standards.
Key Duties Include:
Staff Management: Recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff across departments such as front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance to ensure high performance and guest satisfaction.
Guest Services: Welcoming VIP guests, addressing complaints, resolving queries, and ensuring a positive guest experience.
Financial Oversight: Managing budgets, forecasting revenue, controlling expenses, and maintaining financial records to ensure profitability.
Operational Coordination: Planning and overseeing daily operations, room bookings, maintenance schedules, events, and promotional activities.
Compliance and Safety: Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Marketing and Strategy: Promoting The Travel Inn, developing operational improvements, and implementing strategies aligned with business goals.
Reporting: Communicating with the owner regarding performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education: A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Business Administration is typically required; a master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Several years of local and international management experience in hospitality, including roles such as Assistant General Manager, Department Head, or Hotel Operations Manager.
Skills: Strong leadership, polished communication, problem-solving, financial acumen, customer service, and strategic planning skills are essential.
Personal Attributes: Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and maintain high standards of service while fostering a positive work environment.
Work Environment: Work in the Travel Inn setting, with schedules that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel will be required for meetings and industry events. Reporting to the owner, accountable for the overall success of the property.
