1. Aloha 1 - R8,000pm. This unit has a Queen extra length bed, and a double sleeper couch. It has a full bathroom and a full kitchen, fully equipped. Water & Lights included.

2. Aloha 2 - R5,750pm. This unit has a double bed, a full bathroom and a kitchenette, fully equipped. Water & Lights included.

3. Aloha 3 - R6,250pm. This unit has a double bed with a shower & toilet ensuite. In a second room is a kitchenette come lounge. (Fully equipped) Water & lights included.

4. Aloha 4 - R7,750pm. This unit has two bedrooms and two bathrooms (showers). There is a lounge kitchenette between the rooms. (Fully equipped) This room has a meter for lights. Electricity is around R200 to R400 per month.

DSTV available at a nominal fee. Room serviced once a week & linen changed once a week. If you would like the room serviced daily, the cost of the domestic worker will be shared with you.

A full deposit equalling the rental is required. A lease will be signed by the applicants.

All rooms have security alarms and separate entrances. The premises are protected by 9 security cameras on the outside of the building and an electric fence. Parking is available behind the electric fence.

There is a communal braai area at the back of the house. No 1 & 3 share a deck at the rear of the house.

Warning to other B & B's

I was almost scammed. I got a call from Bay Breeze Holdings Durban (Sounded like a white man) asking for 2 rooms for 2 nights. ( I later discovered that the company name used was an international company and not a Durban company) I could help so booked them in. I was then asked if I do dinner to which I responded, no. He then asked me if he sent the money to me, would I give it to the guests on arrival. I confirmed it to be ok as long as I had proof that it was in my account. He sent me proof of payment. On the day the two black men were to arrive, one of them arrived with baggage in hand. He told me the other guy was on site at their place of business. In the mean time, I had taken their proof of payment to Capitec Bank only to discover that it was a fake document. So when that guy arrived, I told him I could only advance the money for dinner when it was cleared in my account. He acknowledged that that was fine so I said to him, please give me a minute to collect your keys and registration. He said ok! When I got to the gate he had dissapeared. I checked my cameras and discovered that he had walked up to my neighbours home where the other guy was waiting in his car. The one who was supposedly on site. They sped off before I came out. Close call!

Over this past weekend we had a lovely couple staying with us who had won a weekend for two that we put up as a prize at College Street Primary School. While they were here, Selina put together a little slide show that shows the room we gave to them. Enjoy!

I've had a few requests for directions to Aloha B & B so I have included a map and some directions below. GPS co-ordinates are at the end of this post.

From Port Alfred / Airport:
Travel through on Settlers Way through Fleet Street - Follow signs to North East Expressway. Take the first off ramp into Pearce Street and turn left. Drive until you reach a traffic circle, turn left, take second road right and you will drive straight into Aloha B & B at the end of Tottenham Road. No 5 (Green Roof)

From Mthatha:
Turn off N2 onto North East express way, turn off at Pearce Street off ramp, turn right, Drive until you reach a traffic circle, turn left, take second road right and you will drive straight into Aloha B & B at the end of Tottenham Road. No 5 (Green Roof)

From King Williams Town:
Take the Western Avenue / Hemingways Turn off. Turn right into Western Ave (Grenville Ave), Turn left at the third Traffic light into Devereux Ave, take a right at the third traffic light into Chaimberlain Road, (DRC church on your right), Travel until you hit a T junction, turn right and immediately left, Aloha is the 3rd house on your right. No. 5 Tottenham Road (Green Roof)

From Stutterheim/Johannesburg N6
The road from Stuterheim ends at a Traffic Circle to East London - turn right at the circle, you are on the North East Expressway, take the Pearce Street off ramp, turn right, Drive until you reach a traffic circle, turn left, take second road right and you will drive straight into Aloha B & B at the end of Tottenham Road.
