Self-catering means staying in a place where you cook your own meals instead of having food provided by a hotel or restaurant.

What It Includes
Kitchen space: A fridge, stove, oven, microwave, and sink.
Cooking tools: Pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery.
Privacy:
A self-contained space like a cottage, apartment, or villa.

Independence: No scheduled meal times, room service, or daily staff.

What Is Usually Excluded
Meals: You must buy your own groceries.

Daily cleaning: Housekeeping usually happens only before you arrive and after you leave.

Consumables: Toilet paper, dish soap, laundry essentials may or may not be provided.
