Located in the northern (old) part of town, 100m from the beach and 10min walk to the left break at the Point and some epic waves. Also

100m from the Elands Bay Hotel, local restaurant and shops, and the police station. The shack is basic but clean and comfortably sleeps two people, with loads of camping space on the lawn. Elands Bay is on the west coast of South Africa, in an area known for its crayfish, surfing and birding. It’s a pretty two and a half hour drive from Cape Town, just far enough to keep it nice and quiet. You won’t find much in the village: An old-school hotel and bar, a good local restaurant and deli, a small shop, and two liquor stores complete the picture. It’s all about the beach, the surfing and the chill here. The streets are safe and kids, dogs and tortoises enjoy right of way. From Elands’s Bay, you have access to world class surfing, historic bushmen paintings, hiking, running and biking trails, excellent birding at Verlorenvlei, and unforgettable seafood at restaurants like Muisbosskerm and Die Witmossel. During flower season from August to mid-October, it’s particularly pretty in this part of the world. Book your stay for an authentic taste of the West Coast and you’ll soon realise that .

A little update from our guests from a sunny Elands Bay this afternoon. 😎

We’re booked out until Easter weekend but the last long weekend of April is still available. Did you know you can take two days of leave at the end of the month and get a six-day holiday? 27 April to 2 May is where it’s at. You know you want it. The west coast is calling. We’re heading a bit further up the west coast tomorrow, to Namibia. This means we won’t be online regularly so on Monday we’ll be closing bookings for the shack from 1 - 8 Feb. There are still a couple of open days in this period so make sure you book before Monday if you need some west coast air soon. ✌️🦞🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️

We’re feeling the urge to head over to for a seafood injection soon. Elands Bay is less than 30 minutes from this world class open air restaurant and it’s one of our favourite things to do when we’re there. I can confirm the nap after that huge meal is almost as epic as the meal itself. Make sure you check it out when you come to visit. 🦞🦐🐟🍻
