Morning everyone, its with a heavy heart that we need to inform you that Dlinza will have to raise its rates in the month of May. 😪

Currently we are putting in another 25000l's worth of Jojos, and our Solar will be fitted at the end of June. This is in an effort to try keep our costs down so we don't hit your pocket.

Our water & electricity rates have gone through the roof, and still climbing! Sadly it seems those who run compliant businesses are paying for those who don't cover their bills. So the municipality is making up the shortfall.

We will be posting our new rates soon! Not a huge increase, just a lil more to cover what we need to. ❤

So humbling receiving comms like this ❤ you never really know how you are doing vs other B&B's. Almost a year (scary) in the game. One of the pros is being able to meet so many incredible people and hearing their life stories.

Thank you to all those choosing to stay with us, its beginning to feel like a ever growing family, where repeat guests are exciting reunions.

We had the absolute joy of hosting the Ximba family and their wonderful cousins this weekend. I walked in expecting the usual scene — kids gathered around the TV, maybe mid-cartoon or gaming marathon. But what did I find instead? A quiet hush, a cozy fire, and a circle of little readers, each lost in their own book. 📚🔥

It was one of those rare, heartwarming moments that makes you pause and smile. In a world full of screens, seeing young minds choosing stories over pixels felt like magic. Thank you, Ximba family, for bringing such beautiful energy into our B&B!

To keep that spark alive, we connected them with a digital library hosted by the local Info-hub — a treasure trove of age-appropriate books they can access anytime. Here’s to nurturing curiosity, one story at a time! 🌍📖✨

Its been a busy few months since we took over Dlinza Forest Accommodation. The previous owners (Bev & Alan) have been absolutely amazing in the handover process.

Below is a picture of the back end of the property (which borders Dlinza Forest) where we intend to set up a few bird hides and feeders. We have had our fair share of Monkeys, Louries, and a pack of Hornbills that have annihilated our Avocado trees. Lastly, the nesting Hadadas that blast off at 3 in the morning!

We had the privilege of being invited to Indaba. . . The message was pretty clear. Package, package, package! We have opened up another 3 rooms at Dlinza and have recently acquired another property that can accommodate up to 60 people, which will help with overflow.

In the next few months, our aim will be to put together a list of exciting activities, joining the dots in and around Umlalazi. Thank you to Johannes (the Fort) and Jane Chennels, who have been a wealth of info!

🪃 B5 the Boomerang arrived at Dlinza Forest parkrun from Mtunzini parkrun and had a fantastic time at parkrun this past Saturday! 🏃‍♂️
After enjoying the scenic route, it made its way to Made@Home for some delicious homemade treats 🍰
The adventure continued with a visit to the Fort Nongqayi Museum and the Butterfly Dome 🦋
