At Schoonzicht, our neighbours don't always have two legs! 🐑🐄🐴

One of the joys of staying on a working farm is experiencing the sights and sounds of country life. Animals grazing in the fields, birds overhead and farm activity happening around you all form part of the experience.

It's not a theme park.

It's real farm life — and that's what makes it special. 🌿

Come wanting absolute peace and quiet.

There is no particular way you need to enjoy Schoonzicht.

Just come, slow down and allow the farm to work its magic. 🌿

Why should humans have all the fun? 🐾

Schoonzicht is a place where your four-legged family members can enjoy the countryside too.

Imagine opening the door in the morning and stepping straight into fresh farm air, wide-open spaces and a whole new collection of interesting smells!

A countryside escape is even better when everyone can come along. 🐶🌿

Cosmos have a lesson for us.

They don't seem particularly concerned with being perfect.

They grow where they choose, sway in the wind, lean this way and that — and somehow, together, they create something breathtaking. 🌸

Perhaps that's part of the beauty of the countryside.

Nothing is perfectly arranged.

And yet, everything seems to belong.

One of our favourite things about Schoonzicht?

The sky.

Out here, there is nothing much to interrupt the view. Clouds drift across enormous blue skies during the day, and at night the countryside becomes wonderfully dark and peaceful.

It's amazing what a little open space can do.

"A beautiful, scenic and rustic getaway with complete privacy, friendly staff, happy dogs.
Beautiful, rustic and cozy with a stunning view of the mountains. The outdoor shower was an experience in itself, with an incredible view looking up the mountain and taking in the surrounding scenery. The chalet was packed with amenities that catered for all of us, including our one-year-old daughter, and even treats for our dogs. We felt really well looked after throughout our stay. Karien was super helpful, friendly, and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. It was the perfect balance of comfort, privacy, and nature. Everything exceeded our expectations."

Follow the track.
Look at the mountains.
Notice the wildflowers.
Watch the birds.
Listen to the wind.
Stop whenever something catches your eye.

The countryside has plenty to show you — if you take the time to notice. 🌾

Sometimes a holiday doesn't need to be complicated.

A comfortable cottage.
A beautiful view.
Fresh spring water.
A quiet farm.
A walk outside.
A good meal.
A spectacular sunset.

And time.

Perhaps that's enough. ❤️
