about the artist

Regina Zimmermann was born and raised in Stuttgart Germany. Her artistic ability was given in direction with classes in fine art at the fashion school in Stuttgart of the 'Landesgewerbeamt'. After working as an Designer in the sportswear fashion industry for 9 years, Regina’s passion for wildlife was awakened by some game drives in the bush of South Africa on holiday. In 2005 she took the step with her husband Axel to immigrate to Cape Town. Beside running a guesthouse in Fish Hoek, which was decorated by her in an individual style with modern African spirit and her paintings, she carries on with her art. Regina feels an animal’s beauty lies in the detail, its spirit, in the eyes – the focal point of all her paintings and recent wood carving sculptures. The beautiful belts, bags, hats and decoration pillow cases designed with creative flair by Regina, made from off cuts materials and finished with delightfully quirky details.
