After last week’s devastating storms, we are grateful to say that Franschhoek Camping and Heuwelsig Farm Cottages are ready to welcome guests again.

Our incredible team met every challenge head-on with calmness, care, resilience, and true dedication. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped, supported, checked in, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes, it truly takes a village. We are deeply grateful.

Bookings are welcome again from 20 May 2026.

Please note that our landlines are still unreliable and WhatsApp communication remains limited. We kindly ask guests to make bookings via our NightsBridge reservation system link.

Our little town.

Good morning ...Franschhoek is a town in South Africa’s Western Cape with centuries-old vineyards and Cape Dutch architecture. Trails wind through flowers and wildlife at Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve to views over Franschhoek Valley. The Huguenot Memorial Museum and neighboring monument honor the area’s French settlers, who arrived in the 17th and 18th centuries. We’re pleased to confirm that the Franschhoek Literary Festival is going ahead as planned this weekend.

Clear weather is forecast, all venues are accessible, and roads into Franschhoek are open (including the R45 via Brickfields). Please take care on the R301 near the prison, where some water remains.

We’ve been working closely with Franschhoek Tourism, and the village is well on its way to welcoming visitors.

We look forward to seeing you for a wonderful weekend of books, ideas and conversation.
