At Auberge Clermont, our heritage is also found in the things we grow, make and share: a South African breakfast, produce from our farm, our w**es, our olive oil, and the old farm itself.

Some traditions are deeply rooted in South Africa, while others have travelled across borders and found a home here. Together, they have become part of the character and heritage of Auberge Clermont.

Yesterday, the rain passed through the valley and left behind something rather beautiful. 🌧️🌈

For a few fleeting moments, a double rainbow stretched across the Franschhoek Valley — one of those simple, unexpected moments that makes you stop, look up and smile.

Today the skies are clear again, but we’re still thinking about yesterday’s little bit of magic.

Smiling through the rain, and grateful for the beauty it leaves behind. 🌈

There’s something lovely about seeing a place you know so well captured on paper.

Our new Clermont farm map brings together the vineyards, olive groves, river, gardens and buildings that make up this little corner of the Franschhoek Valley — while also offering a glimpse of the changes and new beginnings taking shape across the farm.

For us, Auberge Clermont has always been about more than simply a place to stay. It is about experiencing the land, the quiet of the valley and the story of this very special place.

Today we raise a glass to the vines that have quietly shaped this corner of the valley for generations. 🍇

Nestled between mountain views, olive groves, and the gentle rhythm of farm life, lies 3 hectares of treasured old vine Chardonnay — rooted deeply in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley.

On this International Chardonnay Day, we celebrate not only the w**e these vines produce, but the landscape they call home. Seasons pass, guests come and go, but the vines remain — elegant, enduring, and unmistakably Franschhoek.

At Auberge Clermont, we are fortunate to share our farm with these remarkable old vines, where every sunrise over the vineyards feels like part of a story still being written.

Everyone loves love.

This weekend at Auberge Clermont, we were reminded why.

Against the backdrop of the vines and mountains of Franschhoek Valley, one very thoughtful guest worked quietly with our team to plan a surprise that would become a lifelong memory.

A question was asked.
A joyful “yes” followed.
And just like that, our farm became part of a love story.

From choosing the perfect spot, to helping set the scene, our staff were honoured to play a small role in such a beautiful moment.

Because sometimes a guesthouse is more than a place to stay.
Sometimes, it becomes the place where forever begins.
