🌳 Review of Prinses Beatrixpark, Schiedam
Prinses Beatrixpark is a lovely green escape in Schiedam and a particularly good destination for families, children and relaxed outdoor gatherings. The park combines nature, play areas, animals, food and picnic/braai facilities, making it easy to spend several hours here.
🛝 Children's playground
The playground is a great feature for families, giving children space to run, climb, play and enjoy the outdoors while parents can relax nearby. It makes the park much more than just a walking destination and is ideal for a family outing.
🐑 Kinderboerderij ’t Hoefblad
Kinderboerderij 't Hoefblad is one of the highlights, especially for younger children. The friendly farm atmosphere gives children an opportunity to see and experience farm animals up close.
It is normally open Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–16:00, with Monday closed except on public holidays. It is a wonderful educational and entertaining activity for children.
🍽️ Restaurant – celebrations & gatherings
Beatrixpark restaurant adds another dimension to the park. It is a pleasant option for coffee, lunch or a special gathering, and the park setting makes it particularly attractive for celebrations such as baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays and family occasions.
🔥 Braais / BBQ facilities
For South Africans, one of the nicest surprises is the opportunity to enjoy a braai/BBQ-style gathering in the park. It is a great way to combine the outdoors, food and friends or family—especially on a sunny Dutch day.
🌿 Walking, relaxing & nature
The park itself is a peaceful place to walk, sit under the trees, enjoy the fresh air and let children explore. It is an excellent place to slow down after sightseeing in Schiedam.
Prinses Beatrixpark is a wonderful family-friendly green space in Schiedam. With the playground, Kinderboerderij ’t Hoefblad, restaurant, picnic/braai possibilities and beautiful park surroundings, there is something for different ages. I would especially recommend it for a family day out, children's outing, baby/bridal shower or relaxed weekend picnic.
A lovely place to spend a few relaxed hours in Schiedam.
