And over the weekend we received some very exciting news.......

Our local dolphin pods can be spotted all year long.
They do travel up and down the area and into deeper water for a few days to feed and explore, but always return to the shoreline joining our local surfers or to rest in the bay.
The most frequently seen dolphins are bottlenose dolphins, however there are sightings of the smaller pods of humpback dolphins. In winter common dolphins gather in super pods in deeper water, moving down to the eastern cape waters for the annual sardine hunts.

The power of nature is impossible to ignore.
Over the past few days, we experienced one of the strongest storm systems in quite some time along our coastline. While the long-awaited rain has finally brought relief to years of drought, it has also left damage and disruption in some areas and for many businesses and communities.
As the clean-up begins, another system is already moving toward the Cape Town and Boland mountain regions.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected, those preparing once again, and the many people working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep communities safe.
In between the wild weather, the coastline still reminds us why we love this part of the world so much as it is resilient, powerful and intriguing.

This is what the in-between season looks like.

We are now truly in the inbetween season with the weather. In the last few weeks the temperature have gone from 30 to 15 degrees celsius in 3 days. One afternoon you can bask in the afternoon sun and the next evening the fireplace is crackling away creating a cozy atmosphere.
