The vision conceived over a decade ago of converting a small quaint home into an extraordinary Italian villa. Today we stand proud yet humble after achieving our dream - Thyme Square “where Thyme grows and Time stands still”
Beneath this stunning villa, we have two fully stocked fine wine cellars and in our stone rock kitchen we have an authentic Italian pizza oven where delicious aromas of Italian cuisine both engage and delight the senses. Guests are welcomed to join us in this inviting L-shaped, cozy kitchen where your unique pizzas are invented, prepared and enjoyed.
Our peaceful tea garden at the back of the property is a place to unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings Thyme Square has to offer. Our beautiful garden grows the three fruits of the bible; grapes, olives, and figs as well as our large chilli garden which we use fresh on all our delicate dishes. The birth of the old wooden cross was in 2008 and our tall clock is the Thyme Square landmark. Water features, a boma fire at evening time, and the African sunsets over Johannesburg add a splendid touch to your stay with us here at Thyme Square

Thyme Square offers outstanding self-catering facilities or you can allow us to spoil you. The cellar known as the “playground” hosts Rosemary and Domenic prefer to describe it. An exquisite downstairs cellar entertainment area is a perfect escape from your daily norm; this is an excellent chance for your taste
buds to catch up on wine tasting, indulge in different cheeses and even home-made prosciutto (Italian cold meats)

We have a selection of preferred options available for you, chilli tasting, cheese & wine tasting or even pizza making to mention but a few. Providing quality cuisine and a warm friendly environment for guests to unwind relax and enjoy themselves, is what gives us the motivation to continuously strive towards excellence in hospitality.

Our upstairs entertainment area boast with a 16 seater conference table with ample room for that all important business presentation. Thyme Square Guesthouse nor any of its employees accept responsibility for loss or damage by whatsoever cause to private Property.
All damage to the buildings, linen, operating equipment and furniture of Thyme Square Guesthouse will be charged directly to the clients’ main account.
Thyme Square Guesthouse does not accept responsibility for any losses or inconvenience due to power failures or any acts of nature.
Bookings and Payment
A booking will not be confirmed unless a deposit of 50% is received, full and final payment must be received a day before or on the day of arrival. Proof of payment must be forwarded to the contact details supplied
Cancellation Policies
Less than 7 days, 100% deposit
From 7 to 14 days, 75% of deposit
From 14 to 21 days, 50% of deposit
From 21 to 28 days, 25% of deposit
29 days or more, 10% of deposit
Thyme Square will only confirm an accommodation reservation, provided the payment confirmation as specified.
Should the payment confirmation conditions not be met, Thyme Square reserves the right to cancel the accommodation reservations and/or withdraw any special rates.
