The area allows for safe exploration of the hiking paths that go through Gourits and beyond, swimming in tidal pools, boogie boarding in the waves, playing on the expansive beach, frolicking in rock pools, fishing in the river and sea or just relaxing with a good book. Spring is arriving on the Garden Route — and she's bringing company. 🐋

Right now, southern right whales are making their way along our coastline, and Gouritsmond has a front-row seat. Picture it: a slow morning walk to the beach, a flask of coffee, and the surprise of a spout on the horizon.

The village wakes up gently this time of year. Warmer light, fewer crowds, and the whole Garden Route stretching out to explore.

A proper beach house should work as hard as it relaxes you. 🏡

Ours does. Four bedrooms so nobody fights over space. A kitchen with everything you need — gas stove, oven, dishwasher, and a breakfast island made for slow morning coffee. An indoor braai for when the wind picks up, and a fireplace for the evenings that turn brisk. 🔥

Doors that open straight onto the patio. And the beach? Just across the road.

We told you it was coming together... 😍 Look at this progress!

The new paving is DOWN — the courtyard, the sea-facing terrace, even the walkway along the side of the house. Coastal time paid off: slow and steady, and it shows. Just picture it — morning coffee out here with the lavender next to you and the sea air rolling in 💜

We are just waiting on the final touches now, and then it's reveal time. Almost. There. 🏁

Sneak peek! 👀 Remember that little project we've been hinting at? The courtyard is getting a whole new look — fresh paving is going down around the braai area as we speak.

Building on the coast means working on coastal time 😄 The rest of our materials only arrive next week, so we're not quite ready for the big reveal... but we couldn't resist showing you a peek at the progress. That new paving is going to make sundowner braais even better.

Friday feeling — and an update from Sea-la-Vie. 🌅

First: the house improvements are ALMOST done. We've been teasing this for a little while now and we know you're curious. We promise the reveal is coming very soon — and it's going to be worth the wait.

Second: if you've been thinking about a July, August or September escape, this is your friendly nudge. Winter availability doesn't stay open forever, and we'd love to have you.

Gouritsmond in winter is one of those places that surprises people every time. The coast, the quiet, the stars at night. There's really nothing quite like it.
