Muffins, scones, pancakes are available most mornings, but on Wednesdays we have cake morning, and CAKE-AWAYS. So don't worry if you haven' t got time to come and eat your cake in the garden, just order it as a takeaway for as long as stocks last.
Tomorrows special cakes will be a coffee caramel, and a lemon and granadilla loaf. The picture is last weeks cake, a chocolate always popular.🍰

Today was lovely and cool after the soft rains of the past couple of days. Everything seems like it has been washed clean.
The garden is full of different birds, and is a pleasure to enjoy a cup of tea and piece of cake in. The Breakfast Brunch Garden has been busy and keeping us out of mischief.

Love breakfasts - just not first thing in the morning? Join us between 8.30 to 12 noon Monday to Friday [except public holidays, Sundays and down pours - haha] Relax in the garden while your food is prepared. Saturdays are bookings only so telephone before Friday on land line 049 892 5525 or the Cell 076 723 4007. [minimum of 4 persons] In these difficult times, relaxing in the garden will be soothing. Food always tastes better outside for some reason! Under the dome today is Homemade Swiss Roll.🍰

Well the weather today is absolutely perfect to sit in the brunch area and enjoy carrot cake and coffee. That is the special under the dome today. The birds are all rearing their babies, and that is so cute to watch. Till the chicks are fully able to fly, they tend to be found in some rather strange places, even once on the headboard of a guest room!! The result very careful laundering! The Breakfast Brunch garden is becoming better known around town, so thank you for the support. Remember Saturday we are normally closed, but special bookings for 4 or more can be organized with us on Friday before noon. So remember the number 076 723 4007. Look forward to hearing from you.

Pop in and enjoy coffee with a slice of the Under the Dome bake of the day. A surprise is as good as a holiday - well it works for us. The bake could be a decadent slice of chocolate cake or savoury tart. Depends on the bakers mood.

Our Story

You have chosen the perfect base from which to explore and experience the beauty and natural rhythm of the Karoo. Relax in our garden and watch the birds squabbling over seed from the feeder, admiring the ever changing mountain view throughout the day, or cool off in the splash pool while the rest of the world races on—yet here time seems to have slowed down. It was sad to say goodbye to the pear tree because of the ants, but we are blessed with a wonderful view and one of its pears did germinate so we will have a fully grown pear tree again one day. Walk into town and enjoy the Karoo shops and friendliness of locals, as often you are greeted with a smile or the “doff” of a cap. Watch our three Peking ducks, Celine, Queenie and Dora, do their own special type of gardening watched over by Tommy a dog with personality... If Sunbirds is open, enjoy cake of the day with a good cup of tea, or filter coffee. Spend time relaxing and catching up with your reading. This is the “Gem of the Karoo” and we welcome you into our own slice of this awesome place.
