Malcolm and Glynis have spent the past 20+ years living and working and travelling throughout Africa (north of the Limpopo) and Europe, with a stint in Kuwait and the US, and a 14 day stay in Haiti. Rietjiesbos Self Catering is one of the highest rated accommodation properties in Graaff Reinet and is sure to make you feel right at home. The five self catering units lead out onto the garden where you can relax or have a braai in the shade of two majestic trees. Rietjiesbos Self Catering is a 15 minute walk from the nearest restaurants. The art galleries, museums, churches and national monuments in Graaff Reinet are also within easy walking distance. Secure off-street parking behind an automated gate will keep your vehicles and trailers safe. Graaff-Reinet was established in 1786 and is named after the Dutch governor of the Cape Colony at the time: Cornelis Jacob van de Graaf and his wife Cornelia Reynet. It is the oldest town in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa and boasts a rich and turbulent history. There are over 200 listed heritage sites waiting to be explored.
