Did you know?
A baby giraffe falls about 1.5–2 meters during birth.
It may look painful, but the fall is essential — it helps stimulate the calf’s first breath, breaks the umbilical cord, and tears the amniotic sac. These beautiful animals are part of what you may encounter while visiting Golden Impalas Bush Resort

Even the smallest creatures can suffer from parasites like ticks. Our ranger found this beautiful flap-neck chameleon walking on the ground and noticed it had a tick attached. We carefully removed it to make its life a little easier.

Come and visit us — and if you’re lucky, you might even get the chance to see one of these incredible creatures in person.

Plastic waste can look interesting to wild animals, but eating it can block their digestive systems and lead to starvation. We have to protect animals by reducing the amount of plastic we use, properly disposing of our waste and teach our children to follow us in this effort.

These two didn’t even bat an eyelid when we drove by 🐗 but we get it, they were very hungry!

Warthogs sometimes eat while kneeling on their front legs! This is because of their size and shape - they have short necks and long legs, so it is easier for them to graze when kneeling 🌿 Their knees have tough pads covering them, so they can spend a long time in this position without an issue! 🙌🏼

‼️ KEEP SCROLLING ‼️

Now THAT is the BIGGEST mouth we’ve EVER seen! 😳

Hippos can open their mouths to a massive 150 degree angle (reaching 4 feet tall) to show off their large canine teeth 😬 No, this guy is not yawning - this is a sign of aggression and display of dominance. And believe me, it is intimidating 😅 What a sighting!

Look at this gorgeous Ostrich couple that we spotted a few days ago! 🔥

Males and females have different coloured feathers - males are 🖤 with a 🤍 tail, while females are a 🤎🩶colour!

What’s the reason? 🤔

Camouflage, would you believe! During breeding season, the female ostrich will sit on the eggs during the day, and the male will take over at night 🐣 Since they want to protect their eggs from predators, the lighter colour of the female is best suited for daytime, whereas the darker colour of the male will blend in with its dark surroundings.

Have a look at these photos and see if you can spot the difference! 👀

Don’t you just LOVE the ears of a Kudu?! 😍

Here we have a gorgeous female, cute young male and handsome adult male. Since sound does not travel so easily through their dense habitat, kudus have huge radar-like ears to help them detect even the smallest of noises 💥 It’s pretty obvious when they are focusing on a noise, as their ears turn in the direction of the sound and their face takes on an amusing inquisitive expression 🧐🥹

Female kudus tend to live in small herds with their offspring, whereas males are normally found alone. In some cases, they may form small “bachelor” groups composed of other solitary adult males. Males only join the females during mating season! 🐣

Keep scrolling for the CUTEST surprise! 🦒🥹

We recently saw three big and lovely giraffes travelling with a 2-week-old baby! 👶 This group of giraffes - known as a tower - is made up of both males and females, one being the mother of this baby. While giraffes don’t have particularly strong social ties (meaning that each member of the herd can leave the group at will), mothers will remain close with their offspring for up to two years.

So how can you tell the difference between males and females? 🤔

Well, male horns are thicker and bald on the top due to sparring, whereas female horns are thinner and tufted on the top! Have a look and see which one’s which! 👀
