This 4* graded, secured upmarket, tastefully decorated and unique finishing, self catering lodge is situated in the malaria-free central region of the Dinokeng Game Reserve, 40 km north of Sefako Makgatho (Zambesi) intersection, on the N 1 North on the Hammanskraal / Boekenhoutskloof off ramp. The 18 500 ha Dinokeng Game Reserve, a public private partnership with Gauteng Provincial Government, was

officially opened on 22 September 2011 with the free roaming Big 5 in over 100 years in Gauteng Province. From your bed or patio you can spot the abundant birdlife in the indigenous garden. Chameleon Bush Lodge is also home to a colony of springhare, who are very active in the early evenings. The Water Tower Chalets consist of 2 units in the water tower and 3 free standing units, sleeping two per unit. Completely self catering, the kitchens fully equipped and also a built-in braais under cover on each patio. You will require nothing but your food and beverage throughout your stay. Luxury bathrooms with bath, shower, basin and toilet; units 3, 4 and 5 boast outdoor showers. The 2 Family Units each have spacious kitchen/dining; 2 en suite bedrooms, each with outdoor shower; undercover patio plus outside fire pit. DStv with Access package. Daily cleaning will ensure that your stay is hassle free and relaxing. Activities such as fine dining, pub meals; guided bush walks, game drives, special drives for birders and photographers are in available in area. Visitors can also book on the Dinokeng Game Reserve Self Drive route, at any of the entrance gates to the game reserve. Our slogan says it all : "The rat race ends here".

Look at this herd.

Does anyone look left behind? Does anyone look like they weren't invited? Is even ONE baby elephant sitting at home with a babysitter while the adults have all the fun?

No. No they are not. 🥹

Because in elephant society — the babies go EVERYWHERE. The whole family moves together, looks out for each other, and makes sure not a single little trunk gets left behind. 🐘🐘🐘

And honestly? We think they're onto something. 💛

This elephant has had an absolutely FULL day.

He's walked kilometres. He's navigated the herd. He's eaten approximately 200kg of vegetation. He's dealt with things. Adult elephant things. 🌿

And now?

Now it is HIS time. 💅

The dust bath is nature's oldest spa treatment — and he is giving it absolutely everything he has. No apologies. No rushing. Just a magnificent, unbothered, full-body commitment to personal hygiene and self care. 👏

Meet the African Jacana.

Small bird. GIANT dad energy. 💛

In the world of the Jacana, it is the father who does absolutely everything. While the female moves on after laying eggs, Dad steps up, incubating the eggs, raising the chicks and protecting his babies from every single threat the African bush throws at him.

But here's the part that will completely undo you. 🥹

When danger approaches, the male Jacana gathers his tiny chicks and tucks them underneath his wings to keep them safe. He then walks on, completely calm, with nothing visible except four tiny sets of little legs dangling below him.

He literally carries his children through danger.

If that's not the most dad thing you've ever heard, we don't know what is. 🤍

And honestly? That's the energy we're bringing this week. 😤

No emails. No traffic. No alarm clock. Just two mammals at the waterhole, minding their business, completely unbothered by the concept of a working week. 💧

We are taking notes. 📓

While you're waiting for that first coffee to kick in, here are some fun zebra facts to make your Monday feel slightly more interesting:

🦓 Every zebra's stripe pattern is completely unique, like a fingerprint. Not one of the roughly 750,000 zebras in Africa looks exactly the same 🤯
🖤🤍 Scientists still debate whether zebras are white with black stripes OR black with white stripes. The jury is still out. Feel free to argue about it at the office today 😂
