Taking a moment to pause on the safari road, this spotted hyena is a reminder that there is so much more to these fascinating animals than meets the eye! 🌿 Often misunderstood, spotted hyenas are highly intelligent, social animals that live in clans led by dominant females.

With their powerful jaws, excellent hearing, and remarkable stamina, they are skilled hunters as well as opportunistic scavengers. They play a vital role in the ecosystem by helping keep the bush clean and recycling nutrients back into the environment. 🌍

This was one of the most amazing trips I’ve ever had, the Safari trips were out of this world and we were lucky enough to see all of the big five. I will Never never forget my time at.umkumbe bush lodge
The vibe and the whole experience is just amazing, the food is to die for, the staff are amazing.
We had JD as our Safari Guide and I have to say he was truly knowledgeable and courteous and was a pleasure to be in the truck with him
On our itinerary, it had said it would be about two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. We actually had three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon and nothing was too much trouble.
I cannot recommend this place enough. It is the whole experience, it is a life changing holiday with all the surroundings and amenities you could wish for the lodges are just beautiful.Many many thanks to all of the staff for making our visit so memorable.
