Our Story

Summerfields Rose Retreat & Spa comprises of 12 romantic, luxury tented & timber suites along the banks of the Sabie River, one Forest (Honeymoon) Room, an award winning spa, and the River Cafe, a conservatory glass dome overlooking the river. The Retreat is set on Summerfields Estate, famous for its export quality hybrid tea roses and macadamia nuts.

Summerfields is ideally positioned for guests wishing to explore the beauty of the Panorama Tour (which includes the Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck and many spectacular waterfalls) and act as a stepping stone into the Kruger National Park, a mere 10 km away.

Summerfields is a working farm, an unique agro-tourism co-existence seeking to add value and create a sustainable model which integrates the local community and international guests with the beauty of nature and the fertility of the soil. Much of the farm produce is used in the lodge, spa and restaurant, with many farm-to-table menu-items. Guests are encouraged to roam the orchards, and visit the value-adding plants on the estate.
