Did you know? 🐘 The Kruger National Park was officially established on 31 May 1926!

While it was initially protected as the Sabie Game Reserve in 1898, it wasn’t until 1926 that it became the iconic national park we know today.

This year marks a century of conservation, wildlife protection, and unforgettable safari experiences in this wildlife reserve! 🎉

Today we celebrate International Day for Biodiversity- a reminder of the incredible natural heritage that makes the Kruger Lowveld one of the world’s most remarkable destinations.

From iconic wildlife roaming Kruger National Park to our lush forests, rivers, mountains and diverse ecosystems, biodiversity is at the heart of our tourism offering and our future.

Protecting biodiversity means protecting livelihoods, communities, conservation and the unforgettable experiences that attract travellers from across the globe to our region.

As we celebrate this special day, Kruger Lowveld Tourism encourages everyone to travel responsibly, support conservation efforts and appreciate the beauty of the natural world around us.

Together, we can ensure that future generations continue to experience the magic of the Kruger Lowveld.
