Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies

Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies is a NPO registered group of women situated in Hermanus, Western Cape. Our aim is to raise money for charities in the Overstrand.

The ladies are involved in a number of fundraising projects – the main one being an annual 100 km walk over four days in aid of local charities. The ladies are involved in a number of fundraising projects – the main one being an annual 100 km walk over 4 days in aid of local charities

In the beginning, the ladies carried everything they needed for the duration of the walk. Now, we camp at Die Dam for the period we are walking, carrying what we need for the day's walk. Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse is not a charity itself, but a vehicle to raise money for registered causes. Every cent we collect is handed over to the charity of choice. The choice of the charity to benefit is an open process and we call for proposals from all NGO & NPO's in the area. The ladies that are walking vote for the beneficiary they want to support. The runner-up receives an amount from the proceeds of our official practice walk held before the main walk. In order to raise this money, each lady who wishes to walk Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse, has to collect sponsorship of a minimum of R4 000.00 in order to participate. Some of the ladies raise a lot more than this, using their skills and talents to achieve their targets. We also appeal to businesses in the community, to assist us in reaching our target. Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies has become a very valued and respected group of women in the Overstrand community. We feel a sense of pride both in our achievements on the long and sometimes difficult walk, as well as in the good we do for the needy of our community.

📍 Honingklip Brewery Parking Area - R43 Hermanus Road, Bot River, 7185, South Africa
🕖 Registration: 07:00 - 🥾 Walk starts: 07:30
📏 Approximately +/-12 km
💰 R120 per person — pay in cash on the day or by EFT

Join us for another L2L Practice Walk as we get those walking legs moving and enjoy some time together outdoors. 🌊🥾

And although the planned route is approximately 12 km, I hear it’s becoming a bit of an L2L tradition to take a few unplanned detours along the way! 😂
