WITNESS THE WILD | SLOW SAFARIS
There is something grounding about witnessing elephants move slowly across open Gondwana wilderness, completely connected to their environment.
A reminder that safari is not only about sightings, but about immersing yourself in the rhythm of the wild and the feeling of escaping into nature.

GONDWANA | A NEW SEASON ON THE MENU
Inspired by the landscape, the season and the richness of the Garden Route, Gondwana’s new menu celebrates bold local flavour and refined safari dining.
Behind each new dish is a shared process of learning, collaboration and storytelling. Created by Head Chef William van Dyk, every menu is explored together by the Gondwana team, who gather to taste, understand and connect with the ingredients, flavours, colour and texture behind each plate. It is an important part of Gondwana’s food philosophy and the sense of community that shapes the guest experience.
From slow evenings beside the fire to long lunches overlooking the reserve, every meal is designed to be savoured, bringing together flavour, atmosphere and the spirit of the reserve.

ULUBISI HOUSE | TOGETHER IN THE WILD
Some of the best memories at Ulubisi House are not the big moments, but the quiet ones shared between family and friends.
Early morning light spilling across the valley, laughter over long lunches, the stillness of watching wildlife move through the landscape together, and evenings spent around the fire as the day slowly fades.
It is a place where time softens, conversations deepen, and connection comes naturally between people and the wild spaces around them.
Moments like these are the ones you carry home.
Plan your next family safari escape at Ulubisi House.

GONDWANA | EVERY SPECIES PLAYS A ROLE
Observed annually on 22 May, the International Day for Biological Diversity was proclaimed by the United Nations to raise awareness around global biodiversity and the essential role nature plays in sustaining life, food security and human health.
Today, Gondwana Private Game Reserve celebrates the intricate web of life that makes this landscape so extraordinary.
Situated within the Cape Floral Kingdom, one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, Gondwana protects not only iconic wildlife, but also rare endemic plant species, fragile habitats and the natural systems that sustain them all.
From pollinating insects moving through the fynbos to apex predators shaping the balance of the ecosystem, every species plays a vital role in maintaining the health, resilience and wild beauty of this reserve.
Biodiversity is more than a measure of species richness. It is the foundation of healthy ecosystems, thriving landscapes and a future where nature continues to flourish.
Today, we honour the wild connections that keep this land alive.

WORLD BEE DAY | THE QUIET ARCHITECTS OF THE WILD
Across the fynbos and renosterveld landscapes of Gondwana Private Game Reserve, bees are constantly at work pollinating one of the most botanically diverse regions on Earth. Every movement between flowers helps sustain the ecosystems that make the Cape Floral Kingdom so unique.
Many indigenous plants rely on pollinators to reproduce naturally. Without bees, flowering cycles would slow, seed production would decline, and the balance of these landscapes would begin to shift.
Though small and often overlooked, bees are deeply connected to the health and resilience of the wild places around us.

ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY
Today we pause to recognise the species whose survival hangs in the balance, and the landscapes that still offer them refuge.
At Gondwana Private Game Reserve, conservation is not an idea, it is daily action. From habitat restoration to ongoing wildlife protection, every effort is part of a longer story of survival.
To protect what is rare is to protect what cannot be replaced.

SOUND ON | THE WILD, UNFILTERED
Have you ever heard a baby rhino asking for milk?
A subtle squeek, soft, almost indistinct, yet essential to a bond that ensures survival.
We do not share imagery or footage of rhinos lightly. In a landscape where they remain under threat, discretion is part of protection.
Because behind every quiet call is a species still vulnerable to poaching.
These are the moments that remind us what it means to protect the wild.
