FORMATIVE MOMENTS IN NATURE
The memories made in the wild today become a lifelong connection to nature tomorrow.
There is something profound about experiencing the natural world through the eyes of a child. A giraffe emerging from the fynbos, the tracks of an animal pressed into the earth, the thrill of a first wildlife sighting — these moments spark curiosity, wonder and a deeper connection to the world around us.
Through Gondwana's Junior Ranger Programme, young explorers are invited to discover the stories of the landscape, learn about its wildlife and ecosystems, and engage with nature in meaningful and memorable ways.
Why does this matter? Because the future of conservation begins with connection. When children are given the opportunity to explore, understand and fall in love with the natural world, they grow into adults who value and protect it.
In a world that moves ever faster, the wild offers something increasingly rare — the space to wonder, to learn and to belong.
Create memories that last a lifetime. Discover Gondwana's family safari experiences and let your little explorers begin their own journey into the wild.

SHARING THE WILD
From first sightings to shared adventures, the wild is always better together.
Happy Father's Day from Gondwana.

TOGETHER IN SONG
Every guest experience at Gondwana is shaped by the people behind it.
From the first welcome to the last goodbye, it’s the care, attention and pride of our team that quietly holds everything together. Here, members of our restaurant team sing a traditional song in their own language together, similar to the one they often share with guests. They are preparing for the arrival of returning game drives.
It’s a simple reminder of something bigger: Gondwana is made up of many voices, backgrounds and stories, all coming together in one place.
Today we’re grateful for those in this moment, and for every member of the Gondwana family whose work, warmth and dedication shape what we do here.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY | LET NATURE LEAD
At Gondwana, every day begins with a reminder that nature has always known the way.
The landscapes around us have evolved over thousands of years, shaped by natural rhythms, resilience and renewal. Our role is not to control these processes, but to protect them, restore them where needed, and allow them the space to thrive.
This World Environment Day, we celebrate the power of healthy ecosystems and the importance of working with nature rather than against it. Because when nature is given the opportunity to flourish, everything connected to it benefits too.
Let Nature Lead.

GONDWANA | A NEW SEASON ON THE MENU
Inspired by the landscape, the season and the richness of the Garden Route, Gondwana’s new menu celebrates bold local flavour and refined safari dining.
Behind each new dish is a shared process of learning, collaboration and storytelling. Created by Head Chef William van Dyk, every menu is explored together by the Gondwana team, who gather to taste, understand and connect with the ingredients, flavours, colour and texture behind each plate. It is an important part of Gondwana’s food philosophy and the sense of community that shapes the guest experience.
From slow evenings beside the fire to long lunches overlooking the reserve, every meal is designed to be savoured, bringing together flavour, atmosphere and the spirit of the reserve.

ULUBISI HOUSE | TOGETHER IN THE WILD
Some of the best memories at Ulubisi House are not the big moments, but the quiet ones shared between family and friends.
Early morning light spilling across the valley, laughter over long lunches, the stillness of watching wildlife move through the landscape together, and evenings spent around the fire as the day slowly fades.
It is a place where time softens, conversations deepen, and connection comes naturally between people and the wild spaces around them.
Moments like these are the ones you carry home.
Plan your next family safari escape at Ulubisi House.

GONDWANA | EVERY SPECIES PLAYS A ROLE
Observed annually on 22 May, the International Day for Biological Diversity was proclaimed by the United Nations to raise awareness around global biodiversity and the essential role nature plays in sustaining life, food security and human health.
Today, Gondwana Private Game Reserve celebrates the intricate web of life that makes this landscape so extraordinary.
Situated within the Cape Floral Kingdom, one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, Gondwana protects not only iconic wildlife, but also rare endemic plant species, fragile habitats and the natural systems that sustain them all.
From pollinating insects moving through the fynbos to apex predators shaping the balance of the ecosystem, every species plays a vital role in maintaining the health, resilience and wild beauty of this reserve.
Biodiversity is more than a measure of species richness. It is the foundation of healthy ecosystems, thriving landscapes and a future where nature continues to flourish.
Today, we honour the wild connections that keep this land alive.

WORLD BEE DAY | THE QUIET ARCHITECTS OF THE WILD
Across the fynbos and renosterveld landscapes of Gondwana Private Game Reserve, bees are constantly at work pollinating one of the most botanically diverse regions on Earth. Every movement between flowers helps sustain the ecosystems that make the Cape Floral Kingdom so unique.
Many indigenous plants rely on pollinators to reproduce naturally. Without bees, flowering cycles would slow, seed production would decline, and the balance of these landscapes would begin to shift.
Though small and often overlooked, bees are deeply connected to the health and resilience of the wild places around us.
