ACCOMMODATION
You will feel at home in our clean and comfortable Cottage, Studio or Twin Room, sleeping a total of eleven people. To add to the beautiful summer days we have outdoor furniture and braai facilities in your own private garden. Heating and electric blankets ease the cold during the mountain winters. Safe parking available for all guests. Our Cottage sleeps up to 7 people in 3 large en
suite rooms, each with their own entrance. It has a cosy lounge, with a log fireplace, and dining room facility with its own fully kitted kitchen which includes a large fridge/ freezer. The Studio is ensuite and has a small lounge and dining area as well as a fully equipped self-catering facility. The Studio can also be used with the adjoining Twin Room as a 4 bedded suite. The Twin has its own bathroom/ shower. Television is available on request. The Twin has access to a small lounge/ dining area with its own tea/ coffee making facility. CATERING
We offer scrumptious home cooking with a full English or Continental breakfast available for guests. Meals can be served either in the dining area or outdoors under the trees. There are braai facilities and delicious lunch, dinner, packed breakfasts and picnic hampers. All available on request. ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Just over 2 hours from Durban and 5 hours from Johannesburg on tarred roads, Yellowwood Cottage is the perfect place to get away. Whether you come in the winter months with the chance of snow or in the warm summer months there is plenty on offer to keep you busy. Nearby Activities include:
• Trips up the Sani Pass with its' dramatic scenery and the highest pub in Africa at 2872 metres (passports needed should you wish to go through the border, into Lesotho).
• Hiking trails with stunning mountain views along rivers, indigenous forests, grasslands.
• Caves with San Rock paintings.
• Birding - One of the worlds' greatest birding spots, high altitude specials include Bearded Vulture (Lammergeier), Cape Vulture, Drakensberg Rock Jumper, Ground Woodpecker and many more.
• Mountain biking, quad biking, fishing, tubing and river rafting. Fishing equipment, mountain bikes, tubes etc., can all be hired locally.
• Three golf courses in the area.
• Upmarket restaurants, coffee shops, delis, farm stalls and boutique shopping which include local art, crafts, curios and clothing. Within walking distance from Yellowwood Cottage are:
• Himeville Nature Reserve with two dams, birding, bass fishing and picnic spot.
• Himeville Museum - reputed to be one of the best rural museums in South Africa.
• Himeville Arms with its' legendary Pub.
• A bouquet of first class restaurants.
• The Himeville Tennis Club with the courts being positioned behind the local dam where you can try for bass or take a walk.
