One of our recent guests had the most wonderful time on a guided safari walk! After looking up—and way, way up—at our towering giraffes, she couldn't help but wonder what they looked like from a bird's-eye view.

She used a little AI magic to see them from above and shared the photo with us... and it is absolutely ADORABLE! 😍

Living in the heart of the Zululand bush means nature isn't just near us—it’s part of the family! At our lodge pond, we have a very special (and very shy) resident who loves to hang out among the lilies.

This master of disguise is incredibly hard to see. It spends its mornings perfectly still, blending in with the green stems and floating leaves, waiting for a snack to pass by.

Think you’ve found it? 🔍 1️⃣ Zoom into the photo. 2️⃣ DON’T give the location away immediately! 3️⃣ Comment "SPOTTED!" once you see those sneaky eyes.

At Ubizane, we love the small wonders just as much as the Big Five. It’s a reminder to always keep your eyes peeled—you never know who might be watching you from the reeds!

ROADBLOCK ALERT: Festive Season Edition! 🚔🦒🚧

If you’re heading out on a drive in Ubizane Wildlife Resreve, be warned: the local "authorities" are out in full force, and they aren't taking any bribes (unless it’s a particularly juicy acacia branch!).

We’ve had reports of some major traffic snarl-ups across the reserve:
The Tallest Traffic Cop: One tall Giraffe who thinks the middle of the road is the perfect spot for a 20-minute neck stretch. 🦒
The Zebra Crossing: A literal one. Usually involving 10 Zebras who refuse to use the actual painted lines and prefer to "jaywalk" at 1km/h. 🦓
The Impala Inspection: A herd of Impala that suddenly forgets which way is forward and decides to have a mid-road committee meeting. 🦌
The Wildebeest Wall: A massive "Wild-be-west" roadblock that just stares at you until you acknowledge their right of way. 🐃

The speed limit is 30km/h, but let’s be honest—when a Giraffe baby's decides the road is the best place for a nap, your ETA goes out the window! 🐾💤

Our Advice? Don’t fight the traffic. Just roll down the windows, switch off the engine, and enjoy the best kind of "Festive Rush Hour" there is.
