There is something special about living with art rather than simply looking at it. Throughout the villas, works curated in partnership with Goodman Gallery become part of the experience, revealing new details, sparking conversation and offering a different perspective with each encounter.

Art here is not simply displayed, it’s experienced.

Three ingredients matter.

The person who remembers how you take your coffee. The one who notices your favourite wine before you ask. The one who takes pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen.

Behind each meal is a team member who has paid attention, listened closely, and worked to shape something around you.

Served with a smile. Shared with pride.

Meet the team who make every dining experience feel distinctly personal.

Discover the difference on your next safari.

The interiors at Cheetah Plains were never designed to compete with the wilderness.

They were designed to belong to it.

Hand packed mica stone.
Weathered steel.
Bronze, leather, travertine and leadwood shaped by South African artisans into spaces that feel both grounded and sculptural.

This is safari design reimagined through material, form, and atmosphere.

There’s rarely a quiet moment in the trees of the Sabi Sand.
Between the rustling leaves and distant calls, the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill moves through the bush with unmistakable character. Bright eyed, curious, and always seeming slightly unimpressed by the passing game vehicles.

Often seen foraging through the undergrowth or perched between the branches, these hornbills form part of the smaller stories unfolding around you on safari. The ones easily missed, until suddenly they become impossible to forget.

From the stillness of the waterbuck in the thicket to hyenas weaving through the bush, every sighting shifts the rhythm of the drive.

Out here, the wild never performs on cue.
That’s what makes every moment unforgettable.

With us, wine is never simply served. It is introduced. Shared through stories of the Cape winelands, rare vintages, family estates, and the people behind them. Guided by our sommelier, each tasting becomes deeply personal, whether enjoyed beside your private wine gallery, beneath the trees of the bushveld, or around a table still carrying the dust of an evening game drive.

A camera slows the safari down in the best possible way.

Guests of Cheetah Plains can now experience private photographic safaris with renowned wildlife photographer, Francois Fourie.

Part guided photographic experience, part personal storytelling, each drive offers the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the wild while capturing the moments that matter most along the way.

Whether learning the art of wildlife photography or simply returning home with your journey beautifully documented, this added experience allows the safari to stay with you long after you leave.

Arrange this added extra ahead of your stay to experience the bush through a different lens.

They say the eyes feast before the palate does, a sentiment that feels especially true at Cheetah Plains.

Bright citrus folded into cream, berries placed with precision, chocolate softened into silk beneath steady hands. Each dessert is composed with patience and instinct, every layer considered, every final flourish placed with care.

Bright in colour and rich in detail, these creations linger beyond taste alone. They become part of the rhythm of the evening, where firelight, flavour, and artistry meet beneath the vastness of the bush.

With us, even the final course leaves its own impression.

Rhino still roam the Sabi Sands Nature Reserve, but their survival is no accident.

After years of heavy poaching across the Greater Kruger, intensive protection, 24 hour anti poaching units, surveillance technology and careful dehorning programmes have helped reduce losses dramatically. Some years ago, white rhinos were reintroduced into the reserve as part of a major recovery effort to rebuild populations where they once declined.

Today, every sighting is the result of relentless conservation work, collaboration and funding that never stops behind the scenes.
