Breakfast is now available as a soft launch, by advance booking only.

It is intended for guests who would like an easier start before heading out for the day.

During the soft launch, breakfast must be arranged for the full group staying in the Main House.

Please request it when booking or before arrival so that we can prepare properly. Breakfast is not included in the accommodation rate.

African wild dogs, also called painted dogs, are highly social animals whose packs depend on cooperation. Their distinctive coats are as individual as fingerprints, yet the species faces continuing pressure from habitat fragmentation, snares, conflict and disease.

World African Wild Dog Day is a reminder to notice and value the species beyond the familiar Big Five.

Wildlife adapts — and other animals notice.

After their burrows were lost in the January floods, some of the estate's warthogs established a new burrow beside the riverbed. Camera-trap footage then recorded spotted hyenas and leopards returning to investigate the site.

It is a fascinating glimpse of how one change in the landscape can draw several species into the same space.
