Hot bush days 🌞 these species (Impala, Blue Wildebeest & Kudu) have different ecological and behavioral characteristics, such as diffent diets, mating systems, and social structures, that make it highly unlikely for them to form a cohesive social unit in their natural habitat … how cool is it that our are bringing them all together

Another visitor…

Warthogs are adaptable and are able to go long periods without water, as much as several months in the dry season.

When water is available, warthogs will seek it and often submerge to cool down. They will also wallow in mud for the same purpose—and to gain relief from insects. Birds also aid these hogs in their battle with insects; these red-billed oxpeckers rode along today, feeding on the tiny creatures invading their hides.

Well known for their long necks, these gentle giants are the world’s tallest living land animals. An adult male can grow to around 5.5m – that’s taller than three adult humans! An interesting fact: Whilst they may eat a lot, giraffes don’t drink much water. This is because they get most of their water from their leafy meals, and only need to drink once every few days.

We photographed this elusive beauty chewing on an impala carcass one evening while sitting in the . Being masters of disguise, we almost missed him. We were lucky to take a few photos, and he left. We stayed extrememly quite and still. After about 20 minutes, he came back… or that is what we thought.
Only after going through all our shots a few days later, we realised, it was 2 different leopard visiting the carcass that night. We identified this by the difference of the spot patterns on their right and left cheeks. How lucky were we!
