Nestled beneath tall, ancient trees on a horseshoe bend of the N’tsiri River, Tulela is a place for guests to disconnect from the day-to-day and recharge in the wilderness. An elephant’s meal can involve a little more than picking leaves off a branch…

By pulling down a tree, this elephant can reach leaves and branches that would otherwise be too high to eat. Elephants also feed on bark, roots and grasses, using their trunks, tusks and strength to get to different parts of a plant.

Here in South Africa, 24th September is Heritage Day 🇿🇦

In 1969, 36 landowners came together to create what would become the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, protecting a vast wilderness whose unfenced boundaries today allow wildlife to move freely through the Greater Kruger ecosystem.

More than half a century later, we continue to share that inheritance with generations; tracking, listening, learning and experiencing this incredible animal kingdom.

We have so much to celebrate - and protect - a wildness that will remain part of South Africa’s heritage, for generations to come.

This week was World Rhino Day. 🦏

A time to pause and acknowledge one of Africa’s most iconic animals, and the people working quietly, tirelessly and often unseen to protect them.

Here in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, rhino conservation is an ongoing, collective effort.

We’re grateful to be part of a landscape where conservation is not simply something we talk about, but something that happens every day.

For the rhino. For the wild. For the generations still to come.
