High above in the branches of a Marula tree, a female leopard rests beside her hard-earned kill. Belly full and breathing heavily after feeding, she keeps a watchful eye on the hyenas prowling below — safely out of reach for now.

A perfect reminder of the incredible balance between patience, power, and survival in the wild.

Roadside seats to a wild chess match.

The pride sat motionless, eyes fixed, every step of the giraffes carefully tracked…
Curiosity met caution — and for now, both sides chose to simply watch. 🐾

A familiar face around camp, our resident Crested Barbet has truly made this place his own. Despite an injured foot, he’s adapted brilliantly - flying between branches, foraging with ease, and taking full advantage of the safety camp provides where threats are few.

Keep your eyes peeled during your stay… you might just spot this resilient little character going about his day.

Last night delivered something we don’t often see out here in the Lowveld. As the sun dipped below the horizon, an electric storm rolled in, painting the sky with flashes of lightning.

Guests sat back and watched nature put on a spectacular show — golden sunset hues fading into dark clouds, each bolt lighting up the bush for just a moment before everything slipped back into silence.

Guests got to see how Hippos reproduce.

They do it in the water primarily due to their semi- aquatic lifestyle and massive weight, with the water making it safer and supportive.

Morning light, still air… and a pride of lions easing into the day at the water’s edge🦁

As the sun begins to warm the bush, these lions take advantage of the cooler hours—quenching their thirst before the heat sets in. Midday is for rest and conserving energy, while the real movement happens under the cover of night when it’s cooler and easier to roam.

This is why we wake up early… for moments like this 🌄
