Brown Headed Parrots

We’ve had some late-winter visitors in camp recently, and it seems they missed the memo about keeping the noise down!

From sunrise onwards, these feathered troublemakers can be heard screeching, squabbling, and generally announcing their presence to anyone within earshot. In between all the commotion, they’ve been hard at work feasting on the seeds and flowers of the trees around camp.

We can’t say they’re the most considerate neighbours, but they certainly bring plenty of personality, colour, and entertainment to our days! 🌿

The Chronicles of Freddie! 🐦✨

Every lodge has a character, and ours just happens to have feathers!

Freddie, our resident Crested Barbet and self-appointed Head of Guest Relations, has a knack for stealing the spotlight. One of his favourite pastimes is bidding farewell to departing guests, often perched nearby as they head through the lodge gates.

It’s as if Freddie is there to remind everyone that while they may be leaving the bush behind, the bush isn’t quite ready to say goodbye. After all, the wildlife will miss you too! 🐾🌿

Team building, safari-style!

Recently, our team swapped their daily duties for an afternoon adventure in the bush, enjoying a game drive of their very own with guide Wienand. Along the way, they brushed up on their tracking skills, sampled a few fascinating tree species, and were treated to an unforgettable sighting of White Rhinos. 🦏

As if that wasn’t enough, the afternoon ended with a breathtaking African sunset painting the sky on the journey back to camp — the perfect way to celebrate an incredible team and the wild place we call home. 🌅🌿

As the sun dipped below the horizon and the bush slowly came alive with the sounds of the night, our guests settled into an unforgettable private sundowner experience beneath the African sky. 🥂✨

From chilled bubbles and delicious safari snacks, to moonlit toasts beneath a towering Large-leaved Rock Fig, these are the moments that turn a safari into something truly unforgettable. The perfect blend of wilderness, romance, and pure tranquillity.
