Pondoro Game Lodge is a 5-star rated small, very exclusive 16-bed lodge inside the greater Kruger National Park forming part of a 3,5 million ha ecosystem within which the animals can roam around freely. Accommodation consists of 3 standard and 5 luxury chalets which all have a view of the Olifants river which is the largest perennial river in the Kruger Park. The area is known for its good game viewing and guests can go on 2 safaris daily as well as a bush walk.

On any given day, Black Mambas might be tracking rhinos, checking perimeter fences, monitoring wildlife activity, assisting a veterinarian with an injured animal, or carrying out a night patrol using night vision equipment.

These day-to-day skills and activities help keep the reserve's ecosystem healthy, supporting the many species that call it home and helping wildlife thrive.

Hyenas are unfortunately not appreciated enough for the important role they play in nature. They act as cleaners and dispose of carcasses before they can spread disease. Most safari travellers are usually amazed at how few skeletons and other remains can be found in the bush.

Amazing how every creature has found its niche and is vital to a healthy functional ecosystem.
