A giant eagle-owl nesting along the dry riverbed and calling out from the big marula trees at North Villa. How cool is it to have Africa’s largest owl right here at the Den?!

You can book all three Nomads Den villas. Everyone still gets their own private space, but there’s plenty of room to come together for dinner, drinks and long afternoons by the pool.

A nice way to travel together without having to do absolutely everything together.

One of the reasons we love the idea of a private villa is simply having proper time together.

No restaurant reservations, no set schedules and no need to be anywhere at a certain time. Have breakfast when you want, spend the afternoon by the pool and stay around the table as long as you like.

That’s what holidays are for.

One of our favourite days out from Nomads Den: a boat trip on the Blyde Dam.

Through the canyon, looking for hippos and crocodiles and impressive views from the water.

Definitely one to add to your Hoedspruit plans.

There’s been quite a bit of leopard activity around the Den lately. 👀

Don't worry, it’s still perfectly safe to walk around and explore the estate on foot. But we do love knowing that a leopard regularly moves through this part of the bush.

Unfortunately, every time we spot it, we seem to catch the same view… walking away from us.
One day we’ll get that face!

Especially good after a few early morning game drives.

A little morning grooming session. Very convenient when you have someone around to get to all those spots you can’t reach yourself.
