Klaserie River Safari Lodge on a platter 🍋 🥗

In Swahili, the word safariya means "travelling". Today we use a derivative of the word (safari) to describe a quintessential African experience that involves game viewing, sampling local cuisine, and learning about the wild.

We consider food as an important part of the "safariya" experience. We love introducing our guests to local flavours, and typical South African meals. From dressed up potato salads to minimalist asparagus side dishes, our comfort food takes you on a journey of the palate.

Girls on Tour! 🥂

Last year, this delightful group enjoyed an incredible safari sojourn at our lodge. They all deserved a much-needed break, and certainly took advantage of their time here. We love a fun group that gets involved in all aspects of a safari!

Sami and her girlfriends travelled to South Africa for a wedding. At the end of their 3-week trip, they treated themselves to a safari adventure. The group spent 3 nights at our riverside destination, and we loved hosting them.

“My favourite sightings were the elephant and the pride of lions which surrounding our car on our first safari evening. Sure, we were all s***ing ourselves, but the experience was amazing! 🐘 The safari experience was by far the highlight, but I also enjoyed the delicious food and my beautiful massage on the deck of my room, by the river.” 🌿
