The rains have finally come, we need so much more though!
Waterfalls of South Africa - The Thirty Nine Steps Falls, Hogsback, Eastern Cape.
39 Steps Falls in Hogsback is a very easy walk and only takes about 15 minutes to complete. The walk sets you off from Oak Avenue (adjacent to the Village Green), and takes you on a short walk through the lush green life of the arboretum and up to the point where you’ll find the 39 steps waterfall on the Thyume River.
As short as the walk is, being able to venture through the arboretum and visualize what lives within it, is the very reason this site is so popular. Tree life from around the world and even a Californian Redwood, no younger than 100 years, beautifies this living museum. Note that the trees have been clearly marked with their botanical names as well as the names that they are more commonly known for.
Once you’ve taken in the abundant life around you, a little further down the walk path is the waterfall.
