Set high on a plateau in the heart of the Amathole Mountains, the Hogsback Inn was the first hostelry on the mountain and was built in 1880 by Mr Collins. Today, almost 140 years on, Hogsback Inn has grown from its humble beginnings of providing accommodation and shelter to weary travellers, travelling between Alice and Cathcart (no indoor plumbing back then; guests would have to bathe in the stre
